Global Markets
Two Main Production Areas
Our recently expanded facility includes two primary production areas: the Main Bay molding area, for larger castings that weigh from 10,000 to 200,000 pounds; and the Middle Bay production area, for small molds weighing 10,000 pounds or less.
Main Bay —
Large Castings Ranging from
10,000 to 200,000 lbs.
In the Main Bay, where production of castings ranging from 10,000 to 200,000 pounds is undertaken, installation of a new 75-ton crane has added significant capacity to produce larger castings. Installation of two new pits—each 40 by 20 by 7 feet deep and segmented for flexibility—further enhances our production capabilities to meet the long-term needs of our customers, whose size and weight requirements become larger year after year.
Middle bay —
Small Mold Castings Weighing
10,000 lbs. or Less
The Middle Bay production area is reserved for relatively small castings, those weighing 10,000 pounds or less.
In order to facilitate increased productivity and efficiency in our small mold production, a new 25-ton hot metal crane has been installed in the Middle Bay, along with related processing machinery and equipment.
In addition, a new 1,500 pounds-per-minute, state-of-the-art sand mixer has been installed for discharging chemically bonded sand.
Together with significant process improvements, these facility investments have enhanced Hodge Foundry’s productivity, efficiency and flexibility in the manufacture of small castings.
